Longitude Festival 2023 Competition Terms and Conditions

By taking part in this Competition you accept and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions then you should not take part in the Competition. It is your responsibility to ensure that you review the terms and conditions before entering the Competition. We John David Sports Fashion (Ireland) Limited (“JD Sports”), recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference during the Competition. JD Sports is the promoter of this Competition.

1. What can you win?

  • There will be ten (10) winners who will each win: Two (2) VIP weekend passes to Longitude Festival 2023. The tickets will be valid for the full weekend (1 July 2023 – 2 July 2023) (the “Prize“). Longitude Festival 2023 is taking place on Saturday 1 July 2023 – Sunday 2 July 2023 at Marlay Park, Dublin.

  • This Competition is for JD customers who are residents of the Republic of Ireland only. The Prize is subject to availability. The Prize may not be exchanged for a cash value, nor is it transferable or resalable. The Prize is subject to winner confirmation (i.e. JD Sports has been able to contact winners and has been able to confirm eligibility). JD Sports has the right to change, alter or withdraw the Competition or Prize at any time due to any change in any applicable law or any events outside the control of JD Sports. JD Sports shall not be responsible for any delay, cancellation or rescheduling of the Prize. If any part of the Prize is not claimed (for whatever reason), JD Sports is under no obligation to supply an alternative prize.

    2. What is excluded from the Prize?

  • It is the winners’ responsibility to organise and pay for anything excluded from the Prize. For the avoidance of doubt, the Prize is the festival entry ticket only. Travel to and from the festival is NOT included in the Prize and food and drinks purchased at the festival are NOT included in the Prize.

    3. Who can enter?

  • Entrants and their companion) must be aged 18 years or over and a resident of the Republic of Ireland.. Entries will only be valid from purchases made at JD sports between 22 May 2023 00:01am (Dublin Time) to 11 June 2023 23:59pm (Dublin time) either online or instore in the Republic of Ireland.

  • JD Sports reserves the right to ask the winners and their companion to provide proof of age. Employees (and their immediate family) of the JD Sports group (http://www.jdplc.com/our-group/sports-fashion.aspx), or anyone else professionally connected with this Competition are not eligible to enter the Competition. JD Sports reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to decide if the eligibility criteria are met. If the eligibility criteria are not met, the entry will be invalid.

    4. How to enter

  • JD customers can enter the Competition by purchasing an item from JD Sports in the Republic of Ireland either instore or online between 22 May 2023 00:01am (Dublin Time) to 11 June 2023 23:59pm (Dublin time) and scanning the QR code on the receipt. The QR code will bring up a pop-up page and entrants will have to enter their contact details and then submit their entry.

  • Internet service providers’ fees may apply if purchasing online, when accessing the internet. Purchasing an item from JD Sports between 22 May 2023 00:01am (Dublin Time) to 11 June 2023 23:59pm (Dublin time) is necessary to enter the Competition. There is no minimum spend required.

  • Participation is limited to one entry per person only. If more than one such entry is received, only the first entry will be accepted. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

    Closing Times

  • The Competition will commence on 22 May 2023 at 00:01am (Dublin time) and will close at 23:59pm (Dublin time) on 11 June 2023.Any entries received after this date and time will not be valid.

    5. How are winners selected?

  • The winners will be selected on a random basis by a random name generator. The decision of JD Sports is final and binding on all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of the winners (other than with the winners themselves). The winners will be notified via email that they have won and will be required to confirm their acceptance of the Prize by within 4 days. In the event that the winner does not communicate their acceptance of the Prize within 4 days, despite JD Sports’ reasonable efforts to contact them, JD Sports reserves the right to pick another winner (in accordance with the procedure set out in this section) and the original winner will be considered to have waived their right to the Prize.

    6. Winners’ Responsibilities

  • It is the winners’ responsibility to: (i) organise and pay costs for anything excluded from the Prize, including travel to and from a Participating Store; (ii) purchase an item from JD Sports and complete all stages of the How to enter section above; (iii) provide accurate contact details; (iv) provide valid ID to display proof of age, which is required to enter the Competition and Longitude Festival; (v) adhere to local laws in Dublin (vi) comply with any rules, instructions, requirements, terms and conditions or regulations of the event organiser.

  • Winners will be responsible for acting in accordance with the terms and conditions provided by Longitude Festival 2023. JD Sports will not be liable to the winners or any other persons where they fail to comply with such responsibilities and any such failure may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

  • Prize tickets are personal to the winner. The tickets to the festival are not available for sale, transfer, resale, donation, or exchange of any tickets and/or part of any of the Prize package is strictly prohibited (including, without limitation, in person or online via an online auction website or online ticket resale marketplace). JD Sports reserves the right to cancel this competition and withdraw or make void any and all Prize elements if this term is not complied with.

    7. Personal information

  • By ticking the appropriate opt-in boxes you agree that you will receive regular communication from JD Sports (and its affiliates). JD Sports will use personal information which you provide, or which we obtain through our dealings with you, to sign you up to marketing materials provided by JD Sports (and its affiliates) and to administer the Competition. We may also use your personal data to tell you about JD Sports (and JD Sports affiliates) products and offers, and for market research including analysis and development of our products and customer relationships. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions contained in the promotional emails. If you do not wish to receive marketing communication from JD Sports (and JD Sports affiliates) please do not tick the appropriate opt-in boxes when entering the Competition.

    8. Publicity

  • By taking part in the Competition, entrants may be invited to participate in publicity at JD Sports’ request if they are a winner of the Competition. Entrants agree that JD Sports (or any third party nominated by JD Sports) may in its sole discretion use their comments relating to the Prize and their experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid (including for the avoidance of doubt when responding to any third party). Any use of images or other personal information that could identify entrants will be subject to the entrants’ consent.

  • JD Sports reserves the right to withdraw the Prize (or any part of it) if a winner breaches any of the terms in these terms and conditions or if they are found to have acted in a dishonest or fraudulent manner.

    We intend to retain your data in accordance with our policies. Where we have published your personal data for marketing and publicity purposes, your data will be retained in accordance with the retention periods set out in the relevant platform, website or social media channel.

    9. Which law applies to this Competition

  • This Competition is governed by the law of the Republic of Ireland and the participants of the Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Republic of Ireland courts.

  • JD Sports reserves the right to withdraw the Prize (or any part of it) if a winner breaches any of the terms in these terms and conditions or if they are found to have acted in a dishonest or fraudulent manner.
